By Christian Hopkins, this very talented young photographer uses his photography as a true artistic outlet to help with his depression. The whole set of images are just stunning and really draw you in, a perfect example of how art can help a person having a difficult time to express themselves.

This is too fucking real

I know a lot of people don’t like how theatrical Maria Brink makes all of her live shows, but I really love it and I think most people just don’t understand why she uses everything that she does. Maria herself has explained that it’s performance and visual art to add to the music, and I think she really does a good job with each concert to make sure it feels like a complete experience beyond just the music.

Made around the end of April/ beginning of May for Tina Connolly’s Old Dead Futures, an upcoming short story for Tor.com. Elements of this piece (the story, not the illustration) reminded me of Looper in that there-are-decisions-you-can-make-as-a-young-man-seeing-your-future-that-you-can’t-make-from-the-perspective-of-that-future kind-of way. And I love it when seemingly helpless protagonists manage to save themselves. Go read it when it comes out for Tor.com’s 5th birthday. Many thanks to Irene for always sending me the best SF!
